Business Principles and Work Ethics from Proverbs’ Wisdom
Historian John Bright said: “Solomon’s true genius lay in the realm of industry and trade”.
Solomon knew business! Under his leadership, Israel’s copper industry, as well as its horse, chariot and other trades, were consolidated under a state-ownership umbrella and transformed into tremendously lucrative enterprises. That’s how Israel, under Solomon’s kingdom, accumulated vast riches and enjoyed unprecedented economic prosperity. Solomon was not only the wisest man on earth but also the richest man on earth.
Did Solomon face the same business realities CEOs face today? Although he lived in a different era and culture, God’s ideas given to Solomon are as valid today as they were 3,000 years ago. We will see that most of them can simply be considered: common sense.
